More About Shanna

I am a Massachusetts native who recently returned to the South Shore. I look forward to sharing holistic healing practices with the community and bridging the worlds of Eastern & Western medicine.

My background is in sports medicine and education, where I spent many years focusing on the care and well-being of high school and college athletes; making sure they’re physically and emotionally ready for any challenges they’re up against. As a certified Health & PE teacher, I have comprehensive human anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and exercise science knowledge. This includes understanding the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems and how they interact during physical activity.

  • I find joy in helping individuals mend their bodies, finding relief from pain, or achieving total wellness in the body and spirit. Utilizing the traditional bodywork of Western massage techniques, I also use the complimentary Eastern practice of Āyurvedic bodywork to significantly improve the client outcome. In Āyurveda, the earth element (Prithvi in Sanskrit) is made up of our physical body (i.e., muscles, bones, and adipose tissue). Our physical body is a vessel, so to speak, that carries our soul throughout our lifetime here on earth. The way I see it is…As we nourish and care for our earthly/physical body, we nourish our soul…  Earth and Soul Wellness.

I discovered Āyurveda through bodywork and was so fascinated that I decided to expand my training to include health coaching and client support. I consider myself my first “client” and feel that it’s my dharma, or life purpose, to share the knowledge and teachings of this incredible, ancient science that’s been around for over 5,000 years. I’m grateful to be able to bridge the two worlds of Western medicine and ancient Āyurvedic science in my approach to clients.

More recently, while recovering from an injury, I learned firsthand the powerful, healing impact of Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage. As challenging as my healing journey has been, I’m so grateful to be able to offer this practice to the South Shore community.
